Game Preview: Flames vs Montreal Canadiens

Two struggling teams meet at the Dome tonight as the Flames and Montreal Canadiens finish off their season series in their second meeting. The Flames took the first game, in Montreal, 4-1 as Miikka Kiprusoff became the all-time franchise leader in goaltender wins, surpassing Mike Vernon. The Flames come into tonight’s match-up after another heart breaking loss to the Dallas Stars, 3-2 in a SO on Sunday afternoon. The Canadiens on the other hand only have pride to play for at this point as they will look to play spoilers the rest of the way, sitting in 15th place in the Eastern Conference.

Game Preview: Flames vs Chicago Blackhawks

The Flames enter tonight’s game against the Blackhawks much like they did against the Red Wings. For the second straight game they host a team that will come into the Dome coming off an embarrassing loss. That is the case for the Blackhawks who surrendered a 2-0 lead to lose 8-4 to Sam Gagner and the Edmonton Oilers last night. The Flames will have to take advantage of the Hawks playing back-to-back games. This is the 4th and final meeting between the teams with Chicago leading the series 2-1. Both teams victories have come on home ice, so if that trend continues, the Flames are in good shape heading into tonight’s match-up.
