The Blackhawks are clearly ready to start another winning streak, as they took their second win in a row, this one an 8-1 romp over the Stars on Dallas ice.

It took Chicago more than six minutes to get their first recorded SOG, but after that, the floodgates were opened - the Blackhawks would outshoot the Stars 11-3 in the first period. Three of those would be goals: Jonathan Toews opened the scoring at 9:05, a redirect off a Leddy shot. Toews would score again under two minutes later to give Chicago a 2-0 lead; and then Nick Leddy shoveled in a goal on the Dallas doorstep to make it 3-0 with 2:06 left in the period.

The Chicago Blackhawks are back on track and ready to perform tonight in Dallas against the Stars for the second time this season.

The Hawks prevented a three game skid on Thursday night, taking the shootout win over the stellar looking Blue Jackets 2-1 to end the Chicago/Columbus series.

The Blackhawks (22-2-3) brought up big Jimmy Hayes to fill the 2nd line spot left empty by Patrick Sharp and his shoulder injurt that will have him off the ice another 2-3 weeks. The teams will switch venues as the Chicago Blackhawks head to Colorado to face the Colorado Avalanche for the second time in three days. The Blackhawks are looking to improve on their record-setting points streak. The Blackhawks beat Colorado this past Wednesday 3-2 on an overtime goal from Daniel Carcillo.

Winger Patrick Sharp was injured in Wednesday’s game. The shoulder injury he suffered appears to be more severe than team officials originally thought. To replace Sharp in the lineup, the team recalled Brandon Bollig from Rockford.

The Blackhawks took their record to 20-0-3 on Tuesday night, and set a new team record while they were at it: for the first time in 86 years of team history, the Blackhawks have won 10 games in a row.

It was a special night in Chicago to begin with. The team celebrated Marian Hossa's 1,000th career game (played Sunday in Detroit) with a short pre-game ceremony. Hossa was presented with a silver hockey stick to commemorate his achievement as well as a painting of him hoisting the Stanley Cup; chants of "Hos-sa, Hos-sa," rained down from the rafters.
