Hawks to face off against Jets

After a convincing 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild and an unusually long four-day break between games, the Blackhawks will welcome the Winnipeg Jets to the United Center on Friday night for a Central division showdown.

The showdown carries some added weight for Chicago as they have yet to win against Winnipeg this year, losing first in a 1-0 shutout and again in a 5-1 blowout. They’ll have time to redeem themselves at home with a top line of Jonathan Toews, ...

Hawks drop Winter Classic on late goal

The NHL rang in the new year with another spectacular display between two of the league’s more popular teams in America’s capital. The Chicago Blackhawks and the Washington Capitals played a tight and exciting game in the seventh annual Winter Classic. In the end, it was the home team that triumphed in a game that went all the way down to the wire.

The home team took an early 2-0 lead with a couple of early goals. Just seven minutes into...

Blackhawks wrap up 2014 with roller-coaster game vs Preds

As the Blackhawks played their final game of 2014 - and their last game before the Winter Classic - it was a roller coaster game against the Nashville Predators.

First came the deep plunge of going down 3-0 in the first half of the game. Roman Josi opened up Nashville's scoring on an even-handed goal at 11:50. Craig Smith would stretch out the lead to 2-0 at 17:12. Finally, ten minutes of play later, James Neal would score his first of the night to make it 3-0.

But the Blackhawks weren't about to lay down and take it. Brad Richards scored a few minutes later to get the Blackhawks on the board, 3-1. Andrew Shaw would have his first goal in several games to mak...

Jets soar past Hawks in 5-1 game

After a victory on Sunday where it looked like the Blackhawks could do no wrong, Chicago’s game against the Jets on Tuesday looked like it couldn’t do anything right. Winnipeg snapped an eight-game home winning streak at the United Center with a 5-1 victory that saw Corey Crawford get pulled just 15 minutes into the game after allowing three goals on 13 shots.

The Hawks had a rough first period that saw Winnipeg outshoot them 15-7. Crawford allowed three ...

Amid potential goalie controversies and whispers of a possible case of mumps, the Blackhawks managed to pull out a win against the Minnesota Wild Tuesday night. After a three period outburst in the second from Chicago, the Wild came back to tie it in the third before a late power play goal by Patrick Kane gave the Hawks the lead for the rest of the game. Antti Raanta, who made his second straight start, made 26 saves in the victory.

The Wild got on the board first wi...

Hawks keep rolling; face Bruins on Thursday

The Hawks continue their three-game swing through the Eastern conference as they face off against the Boston Bruins tonight in TD Gardens. Once one of hockey’s most fearsome teams, the Bruins are still a formidable opponent, but injuries and sickness has taken a toll on the team, and Boston sits fifth in the Atlantic division, clinging to the final wild card playoff spot.

The Bruins are in desperate need for a win against the NHL’s hottest team. After com...

Hawks best the Predators 3-1

The Hawks have been trailing in the Central Division all year and chasing some other teams. Coming into the Bridgestone Arena, the Hawks had the opportunity to not only catch the division leading team but to surpass them and take over for the first time this season as the Central Division leader and seize the opportunity they did.

The Hawks had Scott Darling in between the pipes since being recalled from Rockford and he has not cooled off at all. He was really challenged in both the first and third periods. He stopped 32 of 33 shots on goal with a .970 save percentage and looked very strong.

The game also saw Klas Dahlbeck make his NHL debut on the blue line for the Hawks and ...

Blackhawks continue circus trip success with win vs Avs

The Blackhawks haven't had a lot of success versus the Avalanche in the past year, or in Denver. But they pulled out a decent 3-2 win tonight, which makes them 3-1-0 thus far on this year's circus trip.

Scoreless through nearly halfway through the second, Max Talbot opened the scoring for the Avs.

Joanthan Toews tied it up for Chicago a few minutes later on the power play, and then Andrew Shaw made it 2-1 Blackhawks on another power play just 2-1/2 minutes later.
