The Prudential Center was as loud as it had been the entire night. The New Jersey Devils just tied the game at 3 with 2 seconds remaining in regulation.

After a league review in Toronto, it was determined that Zach Parise’s skate directed the puck into the net and the goal was overturned.

For 38 minutes, you had a glimpse of what could be for the New York Islanders.

 

Josh Bailey, Brian Rolston, and Michael Grabner all had goals. The Isles were up 3-0 and cruising to an easy two points.

 

A 5 on 3 advantage, and power play goal for the Colorado Avalanche later.. Game on.

I know, I know – it’s only August and I’m talking about line combinations.  However, for all those Islanders fans out there who believe that General Manager Garth Snow is still lurking in the shadows ready to pull off an absolute blockbuster of a trade, I’m here to tell you that I just don’t see that happening.
