The Hawks put a season high 44 shots on goal, but rookie goaltender Reto Berra stood on his head in his NHL debut as the Flames won a 3-2 decision in overtime. Marian Hossa scored the tying goal as the Hawks earned one point in their second game in two days.
The Hawks had a fast start as per their usual brand of hockey, outshooting the Flames 18-11 in the first period, three of which came on their first power play opportunity. Berra, who finished the game w...
In just a little less than 24-hours, the Calgary Flames will open up their first season without Jarome Iginla and Miikka Kiprusoff since 2005-06. There are no superstars or first overall picks (yet) in the line-up; so to say it could be a long year for the Flames is a fairly accurate statement.
With the season winding to an end, the Flames head into Nashville tonight to face the Preds, looking for a season-high fourth straight win. The Flames kick off a three game homestand tonight as the defending Stanley Cup champions; Los Angeles Kings come to town for the first meeting between the clubs this season. The Flames have underperformed at the Dome thus far with a measly 2-4-2 record. The Kings will conclude their three game road trip after defeating the Oilers 3-1 last night in Edmonton.
The Flames get ready to play their 8th home game of the season as the St. Louis Blues come to town for the first of three meetings between the two clubs. The Flames did not fare well against the Blues last season as they lost three of their four meetings, while only scoring a total of six goals.
The Flames will host the Dallas Stars for the first and only time this season as they hope to get things on track after a less than stellar first ten games of the season. The Stars come into the Saddledome tonight, on the backend of a back-to-back after beating the Oilers 4-1 last night in Edmonton.

With Rick Nash trade rumors swirling and the offense sputtering, something has to give soon for this club. However, it didn’t happen last night as the Kings were shutout for the eighth time this season and dealt a 1-0 defeat by the visiting Calgary Flames.
Mikka Kiprusoff was spectacular in net for the opposition, stopping all twenty-eight shots he faced including several highlight reel saves to keep Los Angeles off the board entirely for the second game...
