As per reports across multiple news outlets, the Toronto Maple Leafs have finally done what everyone had been waiting on for years: they bought out the remainder of Mike Komisarek's five-year, $22.5 million contract.

Komisarek was a hot commodity, big-name free agent when the Maple Leafs signed him off the open market in the summer of 2009. He had played very well during his time with the Montreal Canadiens but that play was simply not meant to travel with him to Toronto.
