Senators center Chris Kelly hat trick was all the Senators needed to get a victory over the Blueshirts. Kelly began his hat trick by netting a shorthanded goal at the 4:27 mark of the second period. The center netted a 15 foot wrister that went past Rangers keeper Henrik Lundqvist to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Senators. Henrik Lundqvist uncharacteristically has battled with inconsistency this season. Hank has been the back bone of the Rangers since assuming the starting netminding gig as a rookie in 2005-2006. He is solely why the Rangers are a playoff contender year-in and year-out. Yet it has seemed Marty Biron, brought in this off-season to spell Hank a little more to keep him fresh for the post-season, has outplayed the franchise goaltender to this point in the season. Overall, Hank's numbers are still solid (.917 S%, 2.72 GAA) but Biron's (.917 S%, 2.15 GAA) are even stronger. New York, NY - The New York Rangers (11-9-1) were able to pick up a huge 5-2 road win in Minnesota over the Wild (10-7-2) in hockey action on Saturday night. New York was able to get on the scoreboard three times in the second period which helped to lead them to the victory. Artem Anisimov got the first goal of the game at the 8:50 mark of the second period netting a wrist shot for the first goal of the game. Michael Del Zotto was able to net a power play goal at the 14:24 mark in that same frame. After smacking the Edmonton Oilers around last night and all of the drama that caused, the Rangers headed out on the road for their first match-up of the season against divisional rival Pittsburgh. Believe me when I say I wished the Rangers had saved a couple of the 8 goals they scored on Edmonton for the Penguins. The Rangers were outclassed from a skill perspective but still hung tough until the officiating tried it's damnedest to give the game to Sid "the Whiner" Crosby and his buddies. My apologies, Quinn.
