U-17 Tournament Top Players

Do you want a head start on the NHL Draft in 2013? Well, with myself and Brian Raiger taking in 15 games in eight days at the World Under-17 Championship in Windsor, Ontario, we have a good picture of who was a standout player. Here are some of the top guys we saw at the tournament. I'm putting on my scouting glasses and have my clipboard ready. Keep in mind these are guys that stood out to me. I also took into account what the scouts said. I didn't really look at size as a disadvantage.

U-17 Championships Day 4 Recap

André Burakowsky, Rasmus Fyrpihl and Leon Bristedt all scored before the game was six minutes old as Sweden picked up its second win in as many days at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, beating Germany 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.

After dropping their opener to Ontario on Friday the Swedes have rattled off back-to-back wins, and can clinch a semifinal berth with a win over Atlantic in their preliminary round finale on Monday in Windsor.

Burakowsky finished with two goals and Tobias Liljendahl also scored for Sweden, which scored four goals in the first period for the second day in a row – it led 4-1 after 20 minutes in its 7-3 victory over Quebec on Saturday. Victor...
