CHI @ LAK

Tue Jun 4, 2013; 8:00 PM

Game three of the Western Conference Finals moves to the West Coast as the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Los Angeles Kings.

Last time out, the Blackhawks got the better of the defending Stanley Cup champions in game two by a score of 4-2. Goals were scored by Andrew Shaw, Brent Seabrook,Bryan Bickell and Michal Handzus.

In terms of tonight’s game three, expect a rough and tumble affair between these two teams. Game two was especially physical as both teams combined for ten penalties. Western Conference Battle Royale: The Man (Dis)Advantage

The shortened season and two rounds of the playoffs have rushed by like a freight train. Tomorrow is the first day of June and the four best teams in the NHL take the ice in the conference finals in the quest for the Cup.

For the first time since 1945 the conference finals pit the four previous Stanley Cup Champions against one another. There’s no rest for the Kings or Blackhawks, both seventh game victors and somehow favorites to represent the Western Conference in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Jonathan Quick and Corey Crawford have led their teams from their nets. After a shaky season Quick has not only returned but improved from his Conn Smythe performance from last postsea...

Blackhawks Lose;Detroit Takes 2-1 Series Lead

They’re too old they said.

They’re too slow they said.

The Blackhawks swept the season series they said.

After the outcome of game three, the reports of the demise of the Detroit Red Wings were grossly underestimated.

Game three was a much chippier affair. Both teams combined for 12 penalties. Seven of which were committed by the Blackhawks. Detroit continued to w...

Hawks defeat Flames 3-1

In what has been a truly amazing year the Blackhawks ended their regular season at the United Center in the fashion that they began – winning. The game was really never in doubt from the moment the puck dropped on the Indianhead at center ice.

Like the past couple of games, again the Blackhawks had little to play for except that this group of extraordinary athletes has set a standard for themselves which they have not faltered from all season.

The Hawks jumped on top of the Flames early and often. The score could have been much higher save bounces not going the Hawks way. They completely dominated the Flames in the first period.

The scoring for the Haw...
