The Hawks came in looking to rebound off of their loss in New York vs the Islander and bounce back they did. Most importantly they worked hard to beat a very hard working team and can take pride in their efforts and skate away with a solid team win.
Coming in the Hawks had to play within less than 24 hrs to a rested Calgary Flames team but somehow the Hawks were able to muster up the energy to put together a win.
The game also so Tim Erixon make his debut in a Blackhawks jersey and played on the third defensive pairing with Rozsival. Erixon had a solid game for his first and looked pretty comfortable on the backend. Welcome to Chicago and good luck with the Hawks.
The Hawks continue their three-game swing through the Eastern conference as they face off against the Boston Bruins tonight in TD Gardens. Once one of hockey’s most fearsome teams, the Bruins are still a formidable opponent, but injuries and sickness has taken a toll on the team, and Boston sits fifth in the Atlantic division, clinging to the final wild card playoff spot.
The Bruins are in desperate need for a win against the NHL’s hottest team. After com...
Cruising on a 6-game winning streak, the Blackhawks (18-8-1) head to the northeast this week to face the Devils, Bruins, and Islanders.
The New Jersey Devils (11-13-4; 26 points) current sit outside the playoff picture in the East. They're not bad enough to be in the "Connor McDavid sweepstakes", but they're not exactly breathing down the necks of the 8th place team (Florida, 11-8-7, 29 points, 2 games in hand over NJ).
On Monday night, Jaromir Jagr, 42, played in his 1,500th NHL game - only the 15th player in NHL history to do so. In that game, he had a goal and assist to bring his career total to move into 5th place in the NHL all-time points list...
The Blackhawks haven't had the start to the season that they would have liked: heading into Tuesday night, they were 6-5-1, their 13 points just good enough for 10th place in the West. This wasn't where Chicago was supposed to be, even among the powerhouse Central division. Part of it was the team's skewed performance: despite averaging a league-best 37.9 SOG/game (not to mention all the blocked and missed shots), the pucks just weren't always going in, even when the Blackhawks were grossly outshooting their competition. Prior to tonight, 10 of the Blackhawks' twelve games were 1-goal affairs, with two determined in OT, and two in the shoot out. Statistics...
It’s far too early to start talking about must-win games for the Chicago Blackhawks, but if you wanted a reason to panic, tonight’s game could be as good a game as any.
The Hawks are coming off of a brutal shutout at home against the bottom-of-the-division Winnipeg Jets and have dropped three of their last four games. They could really use a win to get some mojo back on a team that’s struggled in the goal department as of late.
The Hawks have a return engagement to the Western Conference Final with a very familiar opponent, in fact the same opponent as last year, the Los Angeles Kings. In a series that could be called the tournament of champions the Hawks and the Kings are the last two Stanley Cup Champions and are looking for more championships but must get past each other first.
Throughout these playoffs we have heard the terms resolve and resiliency used on several occasions when describing the Chicago Blackhawks. Now more than ever they will need to muster all of their resolve because the LA Kings have an equal amount and know how to win and what it takes.
Jeremy Morin has followed a similar career path as Brandon Pirri, bouncing between the minors and big league club and never really sticking or making consistent contributions. Pirri was traded to Florida, and many thought Morin would be the next out of Rockford. Instead, he’s making his case for the playoffs, and it’s a good one. After scoring four goals in the last five games, Morin was spotted at Tuesday’s practice with a white practice jersey on- which means he’s a ‘5th line guy’ or healthy scratch. This should not happen.
After a dramatic home finale victory against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, the Hawks have a back to back road trip to finish the season, facing the Washington Capital’s on Friday night. The Hawks hold the only victory of the season series, as they beat Washington on opening night after their electrifying banner raising ceremony.
The Caps are looking to finish the season strong after officially being eliminated fr...
Sunday is usually a day for rest and relaxation. On this Sunday afternoon the Blackhawks continued their hard worker bee mentality and were able to grind down the St. Louis Blues. Minus several key players and with Brandon Saad a healthy scratch again saw several maybe not as well known players, unless you follow the Rockford IceHogs, step up but none more than Jeremy Morin.
The plucky Morin had a whale of a game with a goal and an assist. Morin has been bounced between the Blackhawks and the IceHogs all year and this time he is looking to stick with the Hawks and make a case for himself with the coaches to put him on the ice. Fortitude is what Morin has displayed all year whether i...
