Blackhawks head to Nashville for Round 1 - let the playoffs begin!

The Blackhawks finished out their season in a ho-hum 3-2 loss to the Avalanche. Since Colorado had already been eliminated and Chicago was already locked into third in the Central, Coach Joel Quenneville opted to rest a few of his top players in advance of next week's playoffs. So the team can be forgiven for playing less than their best, in a game that ultimately had no meaning for them.

With the regular season finished, the Blackhawks end with a record of 48-27-6 (102 points), and a +41 goal differential. Corey Crawford, who finished with a record of 32-20-5, 2.27 GAA, and .924 sv%, shares William Jennings Trophy honors with the Canadiens' Carey Price (44-16-6, 1.96 G...

The Isles Tame The Predators With A 5-2 Win

The New York Islanders played host to their former coach Peter Laviolette and the Nashville Predators, who are currently sporting the best record in the National Hockey League. But the Islanders would prevail as the best team on the ice, battling their way to a 5-2 win at Nassau Coliseum.

Hawks shutout against division rivals Preds; fall in Central division standings

The Hawks have had trouble with the Nashville Predators all season, and after a reassuring win against the Hurricanes on Friday, went back to square one in a shutout loss agains their division rivals.  Pekka Rinne would make 29 saves in a lackluster effort by Chicago, who’s inconsistent play is becoming more concerning as the playoffs approach.  The loss dropped Chicago six points behind the division-leading Blues, who earned two more points today in a win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Blackhawks head to Nashville for first of back-to-back games

The reunions keep rolling for the Blackhawks as they head to Nashville to play against former Hawks Viktor Stalberg and goalie Carter Hutton just two days after re-acquiring Kris Versteeg.  Versteeg will lace up against the very player who sent him away from the Hawks in a trade to Toronto, Stalberg, who signed as a free agent in Nashville this past summer.

This is the first of back to back games for the Hawks, as they’ll return to the United Center to face off against the San Jose Sharks, their last ho...

After a winless road trip, the Islanders returned home to Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday night for their second and final meeting of the season with the Nashville Predators. Islanders Look To Rebound Against The Nashville Predators

The Islanders will look to rebound from their first regulation loss of the season with a match-up tonight against the Nashville Predators.

The Isles fell 3-2 to the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night in what was a somewhat sloppy game that saw a few of the team's defenseman out of position, leading to multiple scoring opportunities for the defending Stanley Cup champions.

Tonight, the Isles will look to rectify these mistakes and get back to their winning ways.

Final Thoughts On Camp And The Sound Tigers Release 25 Man Roster

With the preseason now behind us, Isles fans everywhere can collectively breathe a sigh of relief as the moment we have all been waiting for is upon us. The Isles are on the verge of playing the first meaningful games since the heart breaking game 6 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins last May. We have all been eager to pick up right where we left off after exceeding all expectations last season. With all of this in mind, we can only hope for the success to continue so the Islanders can take their place among the elite teams of the NHL. Although the outcome of this coming season is yet to be determined, I think I speak for Islander fans everywhere when I say this is the most confident we have been in the last 20 years.

Game Preview: Flames vs Nashville Predators

With the season winding to an end, the Flames head into Nashville tonight to face the Preds, looking for a season-high fourth straight win. The Predators on the other hand have struggled down the stretch, going 1-7-2 in their last ten, and currently sit in 14th place in the Western Conference, just two points ahead of the Colorado Avalanche.

Blackhawks clinch playoff berth with 5-3 win over Predators

Chicago had shut out Nashville on home ice on Saturday; the Predators came to the United Center on Sunday hoping to return the favor.

The Blackhawks took Sunday's game 5-3 in regulation, and in doing so, also clinched the first berth in the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs. They continue to lead the league with 62 points.

Sunday's match was a low-penalty game; both teams are well aware of the other's ability to seize on mistakes and make opponents pay. The Predators took a too-many-men penalty in the first with a bad line change; and Andrew Shaw collected an unsportsmanlike conduct in the second.

The story of the night was the strong play of Chicago&#...
