Sound Tigers Update 11/19/2014

Lead by Ryan Pulock and Kael Mouillierat, the Sound Tigers had another productive weekend and now sit atop the Northeast Division and Eastern Conference with 21 points.

On October 11, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Albany Devils played the first shoot-out under the new rule and like their parent club in 1983 they won. It was the perfect storm of what might happen under the new rule and thankfully both teams survived intact.

Reinhart Loaned to Bridgeport

The Islanders have loaned defenseman Griffin Reinhart to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to make roster space for Calvin de Haan's return from the IR.

Isles Acquire Defenseman Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk

It appeared that this rainy Saturday would be nothing but a dreary day on Long Island with every resident hoping for a few rays of sunshine to brighten up the day. Well, the sun may not have appeared from behind the clouds, but things are certainly shining bright after the New York Islanders made some bold trades that have drastically improved their roster.

The New York Islanders have acquired defenseman Johnny Boychuk from the Boston Bruins and Nick Leddy from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Isles Look For Their First Win In Brooklyn

The New York Islanders will take to the ice for the second time tonight at the Barclays Center, looking to achieve their first win on Brooklyn ice.

Although it is only a preseason contest, a win at the Barclays Center over a division rival will bode well for fans as well as management, considering whom the Isles have dressed tonight.

Big Year Ahead for Ryan Pulock

Following their unexpected return to the playoffs at the end of the lockout shortened 2012-2013 season, the Isles found themselves in unfamiliar terratory having a draft pick outside of the top 10. Holding the 15th overall selection, General Manager Garth Snow selected offensively gifted defenseman Ryan Pulock of the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL.

With training camp starting in a few days, the Islanders finally have solid competition up and down their roster. New additions on offense, an influx of youth on defense and two new goaltenders means there will be battles everywhere in camp from start to finish.

Isles Files: Prospect Scrimmage, Dan Boyle, & Are The Isles Sold?

The New York Islanders announced this morning this morning that they will be hosting their annual Blue & White Prospects Scrimmage on July 10th at Nassau Coliseum. In addition to the scrimmage and skills competition, fans will have an opportunity to obtain autographs from the participants as well.
