With so much emphasis placed on the production of the first line, it often gets lost at how talented the Flyers subsequent lines are. Although the first line will most likely continue to be the team’s most productive line, it doesn’t mean that the other lines won’t sprinkle in production when need to be.

The Flyers were able to present coach Peter Laviolette his 100th victory with the team on Tuesday night, powered by the stellar play of their rookies and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.

The team held off the Carolina Hurricanes in a 2-1 win, effectively winning the season series three games to one.

Bobrovsky continued his strong play and came up huge in this one, making 33 saves on 34 shots and bailing his team out of some dangerous situations when there were defensive breakdowns around the net.

Bobrovsky flourished late in the third period, when the Hurricanes had numerous chances to tie it up thanks to a struggling Flyers’ defense.

After a short holiday break, the Philadelphia Flyers (21-9-4) will continue on their current five game road trip in Florida when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning (14-17-3).

Despite losing their last road game to the New York Rangers, the Flyers are still sporting the league's best road record (13-4-2).

The Flyers are now 2-2-1 in their last five and surrendered 17 goals. But that last five games' woes go beyond the score board.

After losing for the first time in the month of December, the injury-depleted Philadelphia Flyers (20-8-3) will kick-off a five game road trip tonight in Denver when they face the Colorado Avalanche (15-17-1) in their only meeting of the season.

The Flyers had their seven game unbeaten streak come to a screeching halt Saturday afternoon (6-0) by the defending Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins.

Tonight they will try to stay unbeaten on the road in December, and will do so with yet another new young player in the line-up.
