Kings down Blue Jackets 5-2

The LA Kings and the Columbus Blue Jackets meet for what could be termed an afternoon dislike. With an early afternoon tilt or the fact that both of the Kings trades courtesy of the Columbus Blue Jackets first with the Jeff Carter trade and then the Marian Gaborik traded ended with the Kings not the Jackets winning two Stanley Cups was the motivation for a feisty game early in the first period.

In what also could have shaped up to be a goalie duel with Jonathan Quick in net for the Kings and Sergei Bobrovsky in net for Columbus was anything but.

The scoring got started by the Blue Jackets with Drew Doughty in the box for interference when Tim Erixson was the recipient of a def...

Columbus' Day: Isles Fall to Lowly Jackets

It has been a long week for the New York Islanders. The early season road trip has been an absolute disaster for the Isles and dropping a 5-2 decision to the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday continued the misery. Columbus came into the game losers of five straight, but clearly was a team that just wanted it more last night as they did something that has been the bugaboo of the Isles all season; they played the full 60 minutes.

The Islanders continue their 4 game road trip tonight against the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Pennsylvania Wrestlemania: Flyers, Pens Heating Up For Possible ECQ Matchup

Hard hitting, desperation saves and a little bit of extra-curricular activities sprinkled in.

Perhaps, it was a look at what the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals has in store for the Flyers and Penguins. 60 minutes of full throttle hockey with the addition of the playoffs, and the hockey world will be in store for another classic Flyers/Penguins series.

Sunday afternoon's battle - as well as one more game next Saturday afternoon to finish the season - was a preview of the almost inevitable 4/5-seed match up between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Devils Stifle Flyers Non-Existent Offense

The Flyers recent offensive woes are coming at the worst of times with the final month of hockey underway.

One goal is not going to win a team many hockey games and that was the case tonight. Finding the net only once, the Flyers dropped an important Atlantic Division game to the Devils, 4-1, Sunday night.

Martin Broduer was barely tested all game by the Flyers, making 18 saves, including 4-of-5 in the third period.

Making the start in net for Philadelphia was Sergei Bobrovsky, who hasn't played in nearly a month (February 18). He answered the call early, stifling New Jersey's early pressure as the first period began to wind down.
