Game Preview: Flames vs Nashville Predators

The Flames will look to end their 7-game winless streak (0-6-1) on the road when they head into Nashville to visit the struggling Predators. This is the second meeting between the clubs in less than a week after the Flames had a convincing 6-3 win over the Preds last Friday night at the Saddledome.

 The Montreal Canadiens and General Manager Pierre Gauthier were the first to make a "splash" on Trade Deadline Day Monday, and the result was the shipping of often troubled forward Andrei Kostitsyn to another conference. Kostitsyn now finds himself a member of the new Habs-West, otherwise known as as the Nashville Predators, where he will reunite with his younger brother Sergei.  The trade will give the Canadiens a second round pick in the 2013 draft. Islanders Look To Avoid Capital Punishment - Isles/Caps Pre-Game

Somebody had a case of the Mondays.

The New York Islanders, at least, will have a quick turnaround after one of their worst performance’s of the season. After a dismal 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators, the
Islanders travel to the nation’s capital to play the red hot Washington Capitals.

Washington, winners of seven straight at the Verizon Center, come into the contest off a 2-1 home victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. They haven’t trailed in a game at home since December 13th. In 22 games since Bruce Boudreau was replaced by Dale Hunter, the Capitals have gone 12-9-1 playing themselves into a 1st place tie with the Florida Panthers in the Southeast Division.

Game Day: Nashville Predators @ Phoenix Coyotes

The Coyotes' second game in two nights will see them host the Nashville Predators at Jobing.com Arena as of 7:00 p.m., Arizona time.  Last night the Coyotes won their third game in the row at the expense of the Colorado Avalanche and with 39 saves from their goaltender, Mike Smith.  Phoenix won the last game they played against Nashville by a count of 5-2.
