Hello and allow me to introduce myself!
Hi, my name is Christian Koebel and I'm the newest blogger brough on by The Checking Line. It seems that, like NHL.com, The Checkling Line had to scramble when they realized the Blues might be a real time. Unlike NHL.com, they've decided to bring people on to cover them, instead of totally ignoring they exist. I'm one of those people.
I've been a Blues fan all my life, ever since my father would watch games on KPLR. The first names I remember hearing are Oates, Janney, Hull, and Riendeau, which puts me at about 1991ish, or when I was seven years old. I've been "bleeding blue" ever since (though I really don't like that phrase).
I've seen all the lows and highs of the last twenty years. From renting Scott Stevens for a year for the price of five first round draft picks to Hull's 86 goals. Yzerman's OT winner to Pronger and MacInnis' defensive dominance. From the horrible post-lockout seasons to our current renaissance.
I am most certainly not the most knowledgeable commentator on this site, nor will I claim to be great at in-depth analysis, but I can promise this: I will do everything I can to make this site the place you guys go to for your Blues news and opinions.
