Really? Interesting indeed. The Onion was a clever idea five years ago, they might have been able to charge then - not now. I'm sure it will be very difficult to have to mark the Onion off of news sources; however, I think most people will survive.

While I respect the effort that goes into their site, it's not exactly rocket science. Most of their content is canned and stuff that you or I could come up with if we got paid to do it. So I don't really consider it art. It's a glorified blog, and it's completely ridiculous that I have to pay to read 10 line articles about fucking nothing. What's even more enraging is that if you go to their site, you still count like at least a dozen ads, many of which are autoplay or invasive.

I am waiting to see what Isles Newsday reporter, Katie Strang has to say about it in regards to confirming this possibility with three sources: Garth Snow, Alexei Yashin and his agent Mark Gandler (she was away on jury duty). I am not someone who approves of this deal. But I won't jump the gun on anything yet.
