Torts tried to go after Brian Boyle for not covering Kessel but you could tell it was a little forced.

To be honest, I think they're doing a great job of not making things seem forced. I didn't watch the show at all last year because I thought thats all it would be - awkward hockey players acting like they tried memorizing "edgy" hockey related dialogue. But I heard HBO did an awesome job and after watching episode 1 this year, I'm very impressed.
