PG & JM Heads On A Silver Platter!!!!!!!!Martin & Gautier’s Head On a Platter!!!!!!!!!
It is with great passion and frustration that I write this blog, I am fed up of the whole managerial situation in Montreal. I think it’s time we have some new blood, we all know what the Habs are in search for, or should I say in need for. We have one win in our last six games and it’s not because the forwards are not clicking. Yes we can say that AK46 is not working like he should be and that were not scoring goals, but the reason for that is simple. We are giving the puck up to many times in our transition zone attack, we in the last 6 games we had at least 15 to 20 turnovers. In which at 75% of the time it was caused by our defense.
No we don’t need a forward just yet; IMHO we need a top 4 maybe even top 2 D-Man that can transition the puck. I’ll explain why, for the first time since Josh Georges’ first 2 games with that Habs, has been the worst defense on the ice, last night loss could mainly go on his or any of our defense shoulders. But there’s a reason for that, FATIGUE!!!!!! They don’t have the young big bodies any more there all old and slow not in their primes.
Here is how it breaks down:
Hamerlik: very good D-man but not a transition guy, better defensively when playing right amount of minutes, right now covering for Markov, used too much and causing more bad than good.
Gill: Great team guy, very good on the PK, but just that a PK specialist, an own zone man, nothing else.
Spacek: well he was once a very good D-Man, but I think his boat has sailed a while ago. He has single handedly handicapped the team by 2 defense when in the lineup. He must go!
Georges: he has been our warrior ever since he joined the team, considered an underrated player; he has only brought good until late. But his play suffers only because he is nursing injuries and he is over used in situations he’s not supposed to be in, like the power play.
Picard: he is a great pick-up in the off season, very good 2way d-man with more upside than down. But he is only a 5th or 6th and currently playing more than he should be. He is not the solution to Markov.
P.K. Subban: our super star to be, he is undoubtedly the best player if not Defense this team has, problem is that he’s like a fire cracker. But this is tamed with time; we need to stop pressuring him into playing a style that suite the coach more than the game. He has played up and down hockey ever since he was benched for 3 games, and that’s a problem. His best game since then has been against the Flyers and Bruins. And in both game she set the tone of the game with big hits and points. Why must management choke his play, they should let their ego’s rest and let the kid play.
Weber: IMO is wasting his time in the press box, either send him back down or take Spacek’s place, he can’t do any worse than him and the 3 games he has played were his best ever in the NHL. He is ready to play and grow, but JM and PG must let him play, by the way when the last time the Habs have had to righties in the same game.
Markov: Finally our franchise D-Man, yes it is important to note that he may be targeted and labeled as a fragile player; I think he personally rushed his recovery and that caused his injury early on. I still think it is important to sign him and sign him fast. He will only make and teach Subban to be a better leader and player on and off the ice.
The teams management needs to wake up and make changes, Pacioretty call up was a good move and so was Weber’s but I think it’s time to shake it up a bit. I say send Eller down to work on his playing time and confidence, make him score goals and points with the Bulldogs, call up Desharnais and white or someone, PK doesn’t need to fight. He’s not a fighter and never will be this throws him off his game. Go out and get a good solid puck moving 2-way D-man, we have the cap space and somebody will pick AK46 in a transaction.
If these demands are not met, the season will be thrown down the drain, and I am willing to accept the heads of PG & JM on a silver platter!!!!!!!!
