John Tavares might be looking to take over Jack Capuano's job #Isles
Can't see Nabokov coming back but I don't see who they'd trade him too. Eaton is likely good as gone from my perspective. Dunno how Rolston and Pandolfo are doing but I'd imagine they're at the forefront of Snow's list to trade.
I just don't get it... I wish they would explain how it happened, but at this point I guess it almost doesn't matter. The guy just simply can't stay healthy.
As I said on Twitter, I admire Rick Dipietro and was always a fan. When he was healthy he stole games for us. He played solid but my god all those injuries and surgeries. He seriously needs to retire. I dont think anyone will hold it against him. I am pretty sure he will have a front office job waiting.
No need to trade away draft picks or prospects for another old veteran to "show the young kids the way." The Isles have plenty of leaders in their locker room and believe in each other. But these injuries do present an opportunity for Garth Snow to make an impact move for a high quality player to show that he believes in this team too. An under-performing team looking for a shake up - like Tampa Bay, Washington, or L.A - could be good potential trading partners.
I started to feel last year that the #Isles play better when they are relying more so on the kids than they do veterans. But if the team is within playoff contention by the end of February, I would hope they add some veteran assistance that can actually pot a few goals and help them get to the post-season...but time will tell still if they will be sellers or buyers at the deadline
I am waiting to see what Isles Newsday reporter, Katie Strang has to say about it in regards to confirming this possibility with three sources: Garth Snow, Alexei Yashin and his agent Mark Gandler (she was away on jury duty). I am not someone who approves of this deal. But I won't jump the gun on anything yet.
